Welcome to the blog of the humans and dogs that take part in the crazy, fast paced sport of Flyball in South Africa.

The two top teams are currently the Boland Flyers and the Boland Falcons (based on recent SAFDA Regional Trial results). We compete under both competition bodies, namely SAFDA (South African Flyball Dog Association) and KUSA (Kennel Union of Southern Africa).

Other teams in South Africa are Fast4wd and Fireflies from the Eastern Province; Zero Gravity from the Free State, Racing Vines from Stellenbosch (Boland), MI-5 from Cape Town, and Firedogs which is usually an invitational team.

Here is Fast4wd, in Cape Town – March 2008 – on achieving their FDx titles for the 3 EP Dogs.

Boland Falcons win KUSA Nationals

Boland Falcons, made up of two dogs from the Boland Falcons team (Pumba and Blaze) together with two dogs from the Boland Flyers team (Beau and Comet) won the KUSA National Flyball Dog of the Year competition for 2008. This competition was held indoors, which was a first for these dogs. Well Done.

Here are the three Boland teams which competed at the recent Regional Trials in Knysna, Southern Cape.


The Teams are:

The Boland Flyers (Yellow Bibs) with Sarah and Comet, Annaret and Chinzi, Karen and Ike, Roche and Beau;

The Boland Falcons (Black Bibs) with Jean and Pumba, Philip and Blaze, Ian and Shep, Mauriza and Timmie;

The Racing Vines (Green Bibs) with Fiona and Xylo, Bisbi and Trigger, Annami and Grumpy, Martina and Newton.

This is an old video taken of the Boland Falcons team in 2007. The team now has a new dog and they are also using a two-hole box, but as yet there are no videos of them.
